TEDxVictoria & Thunderfest

Oct 08, 2026

Interactive displays of several computers from the collection of the Historic Computing Lab were featured at TEDxVictoria 2026 in the Farquhar auditorium, and earlier in the fall as one of the Library's student welcoming events at Thunderfest.

Computers featured at one or both of the displays included:

  • Magnavox 3000 console (Pong)
  • Atari 800XL (Pac-Man)
  • Vic 20 (Pinball)
  • Commodore 64 (Omega Race)
  • Telidon Display System (Reconstruction Project)
  • Mac SE/30 (Hypertext Literature)
  • iMac G3 (Nanosaur)

Although the two events attracted somewhat different demographics, the historic computers proved popular at both.
